Login to your account, navigate to Web Analytics and Management, and then select the AB Testing option. Select "New Experiment" and enter the URL of the webpage to be tested in the URL field(refer to images below) and then select "Create Experiment"
Now the browser will automatically load the AB testing editor, and set up the page for an A/B test. Hover your mouse anywhere on the page and view the various elements of your page that are highlighted.
The AB testing toolbar appears at the top of the page. The Variations tab is selected, and the page lands up in 'Variation 1’ by default.
Freshmarketer provides you with the option to create, rename, and duplicate variations. To create a new variation, click the "ADD NEW VARIATION" button on the Variations tab.
Click anywhere on the elements of your page and a plethora of options gets loaded.
Track clicks on elements goal is the only goal that can be set via editor and for all other goals, use Goals page in the Freshmarketer web app page.
To track clicks on elements such as buttons, boxes, etc., on a page, click that element and select Track Clicks option from the contextual menu. After selecting the option, a dialog box with the id of the element to be tracked will appear. Now, enter the goal name and save it. Then, an arrow-like icon will appear near the element indicating that the particular element is under tracking.
NOTE: Track Clicks option will work only when a change is made to the site. This is because when no changes are made in the original site, Track clicks options tracks clicks on the original site instead of the variation.
To delete the “Track clicks on elements” goal, click the respective element and select Delete track click. Editing a “Track clicks on elements” goal can be done in the Goals page without using the editor.

And, it is important to note that if a goal has been made as a Primary Goal, it can be deleted only in Goals page in Freshmarketer web app page and not in the editor.
Once the variations are created, click on Continue button at the bottom right corner of the page which will redirect to Freshmarketer web app page where goals and targeting audience can be set for the experiment.
Here’s a guide on options for creating variations. Once you have created the variations, click on Continue button, at the bottom right corner of the page.
Now the control moves to the Goals tab in the Freshmarketer web app. The Track click on elements goal which was added earlier will be present in this tab now.
To create another goal, click on Add another goal button on the top left. Select a goal from the list of goals that appear. To know about the different types of goals and where it should be used, read this article.
Freshmarketer gives you an additional option to create custom event goal. Set any of your goals as the ‘Primary goal’ by clicking on the button to the right side of the goal.
Once you’re done setting up the goals, click on Next button.
You can add any number of goals by following the same process. However, the primary goal can be set only to one goal.
Audience segments can be of multiple types. Freshmarketer gives you a choice to choose your audience segment from one of the three categories- All, default and custom.
Select Audience for Targeting
If your requirement doesn’t match any of the audiences, then click on Custom Audience option.
Then, click on Next button.
Here, all the details including the number of variations, goals, activation mode, etc., can be seen and verified before proceeding to start the experiment.
Verify Code and Launch Experiment
After completing the review of the summary page, click Launch Experiment button in the top right corner.
1.You can also send the code directly to your developer through the mail. Type the email address of the developer and click the Send button.
2.Once the code has been embedded, verify the code by clicking on Verify.
3.You can integrate A/B testing with Google Analytics. Read more on GA integration
